Submitting proposals
We welcome proposals for new books, whether novels, short stories, poetry or drama. If you have a project that you would like us to consider please send us the following:
- A proposal letter indicating the type of book, its length and potential market. Please indicate whether you have approached another publisher with your proposal. Do not forget to provide your address.
- A synopsis of the work
- A table of contents
- Two sample chapters

Note that we do not publish works of scholarship, research, student texts or general interest books at present. While we prefer not to receive complete manuscripts unless we specifically request them, you should note that if you do send an unsolicited manuscript we are unable to return it.
We will acknowledge receipt of your proposal as soon as possible. The commissioning editor will then read your proposal and forward it to
correspondents for detailed consideration. If we are interested in your proposal we will contact you in writing. If you have been unsuccessful on this occaision
we shall try to let you know within two months.
Author Fees
Authors receive payment on a royalty basis: for every copy of a book sold, they receive a set percentage of the sale price. The fee is paid to the author twice
yearly, as set out in their contract. In some circumstances a moderate advance may be available.
